Animal abuse: are we human?

In an agricultural country like India, what can be called insensitive behavior towards animals? It is said that it took thousands of years to become a human being from an animal, but it does not take any time to become an animal.

The incidents of animal abuse happen around us every day. We consider most events to be ignored as 'small incidents'. To ignore our small events towards them may only lead to big events.

 But the incidents of vandalism (cruelty with animals) done to some animals are such that it is impossible for us to ignore them. Then we ask ourselves a question, are we human?

 The unfortunate thing is that not only animals that mingle with us in everyday life, are only victims of this violence, but also, the wild animals are troubled by the misbehavior of human beings. Such are the deeds of humans, that perhaps even the creatures living in the forest will consider humans wilder than themselves.

 This beautiful nature has made all its beautiful creatures on this earth as well. But man's ego has refused the existence of these weak animals.

 In the last few years, our governments are working to end the mistreatment and violence happening with animals. Laws have been enacted in many places. But there are incidents of mistreatment of animals that do not stop. On the contrary, it seems to be increasing.

 The recent incidents in India in the last few days are the biggest examples of violence against animals, it is very painful for any animal-loving human being. It also indicates the need for more rights to animals and more efforts to protect them.

Abuse with the blue bull in Bihar state

The conflict between the blue bull and farmers is not new at all. The blue bull is seen as an animal that harms the crop. These struggles are from many years and are becoming more fierce from the last few years. 

This struggle took the form of barbarism in the Vaishali district of Bihar. Due to the blue bull, many complaints of loss of the crop were given by farmers to the forest department.

After several complaints, the Forest Department itself killed more than 300 blue bulls with the help of many poachers. This news published in The Times of India.

The cruelest thing in this is that some of those blue bulls were buried alive with the JCB machine. This thing came to light when a video of a blue bull being buried alive went viral on social media.






 There are reports of a political person of the ruling party, also being involved in this insensitive work. However, as usual, he described the video as fake.

 Nilgai often causes crop losses in fields, this is a reality. Farmers try to save their crops by taking various measures to avoid this loss.



Some of these methods are sober, and some use the cruel method!

 According to the way in which this incident of Vaishali district has been conducted, it does not appear that a person of the twenty-first century, can do this who have human sympathy.

 In fact, it is inhuman acts that have raised questions on our being human only.

 If the blue bulls ruin the crop, instead of treating it, if the government system kills wildlife with the help of poachers, then who would expect the protection of these poor animals?

 The most important issue is why do humans treat animals worse than animals? Does he consider animals weak? Is it the right, that nature has given man the limitless ability to oppress the weak animals?

We feel proud, we are humans of the modern era. People born in an earlier time period considered 'backward' and illiterate. The reality is, in today's age we have been away from nature by indulging in material pleasures.

 It seems that in such an event, we have gone far away from nature.

 Thousands of years ago, these animals and our ancestors lived together. We all depended on each other in the food chain, yet humans did not treat other creatures by such cruel behavior. If the stomach is full, the lion also does not hunt and this is a human, whose hunger for wealth never ends.

 Even today, the tribals who live their lives fully in the forests, do not show cruelty to the animals in such a way to fulfill their hunger. On the contrary, even without physical things, these tribal groups live very easily with other animals.

 Towards pets is nowadays seen as a way of earning money. Due to which there is no limit to the mistreatment of pets.

 So do we deserve to be called modern humans?




Hundreds of dogs killed mercilessly in Maharashtra's Buldana district


 More than 200 dogs were found dead in a rural region called Girda in Buldana district of Maharashtra. Their mouths and feet were tied with clothes. All dogs were poisoned, due to this their death.

 The sensation spread in the region,  after seeing such a large number of dead bodies of dogs.

 The villagers could not understand why such a large number of dogs were brought here? Due to a large number of dead bodies, there was a large amount of deodorant in the surrounding 5 villages.



After the villagers made a complaint to the forest department, the local police arrested some people. Later it was later revealed that these dogs were caught from a nearby municipality named Bhokardan. It was also revealed in the police inquiry that the orders to kill these dogs were given by the senior officer.

 A few days ago, Priya Dutt, a member of the Indian Parliament, also tweeted and mentioned a similar incident.
Priya Dutt has demanded stringent legislation in his tweet. There are many such crimes, which cannot be controlled by strict laws. Tightening the law will not make much difference. Many times, government officials broke laws indiscriminately.

 Laws made for animals must be strictly implemented. But do people who do not love animals, will follow this law? Laws in whose hands, those people are sensitive to animals?

Better to create awareness among the people, so that the incidents of animation abuses can be curbed. As long as, people do not consider animals the same creatures as them, no matter how tight the law is, it will not matter.


 However, such incidents shook the human senses. Constant exposure of such incidents is not a good sign.

 The way our sensations are, the same sensations occur in all the animals.

 Even the feeling of happiness and sorrow is similar to ours.

 There is no difference between their and our afflictions. They need oxygen to live and we too.

 Nose, ears, feet, eyes, and tears, sneezes... can anyone differ between us.

 Their and our hunger .......  hunger, whether it is of stomach or body, what is the difference?

 Who has given us the right to behave ruthlessly when nature has made no difference between them and us?

 But the greed and selfishness of humans have created problems for other beings, in today's era. This crisis is so big, and some species of animals are completely destroyed and some are on the verge of extinction.

 In a country like India, given rites to see god in all living beings, but even in this land, there are painful incidents of cruelty with animals.

 Not just cows, buffaloes, bulls, where snakes and cobras are also worshiped. Because Indians known the importance of these creatures for thousands of years, one of the biggest reasons is the world's oldest agri-culture here!

भारत जैसे कृषि प्रधान देश में जानवरों के प्रति असंवेदनशील व्यवहार को क्या कहा जा सकता है? ऐसा कहते हैं कि, जानवर से इंसान बनने के लिए हजारो साल लगे, मगर इंसान से जानवर बनने के लिए कुछ भी समय नहीं लगता.

जानवरों के साथ दुर्व्यवहार की घटनाए रोज हमारे आसपास घटती रहती हैं. ज्यादातर घटनाओं को हम 'छोटी घटना' समझकर अनदेखाही कर देते हैं. उनके प्रति हमारा छोटी घटनाओ को अनदेखा करना ही शायद बड़ी घटनाओ को जन्म देता हो.

मगर कुछ जानवरों के साथ किये गए बर्बरता (Animal cruelty) की घटनाये ऐसी होती हैं, जिन्हे अनदेखा करना हमारे लिए नामुमकिन होता हैं. फिर एक सवाल खुद से ही हम पूछते हैं, की क्या हम मानव हैं?

दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बात यह है की हम से रोज के जीवन में घुलमिल जानेवाले जानवर ही केवल इस हिंसा का शिकार नहीं होते, बल्कि, वन्यप्राणी भी इंसान की दुर्व्यवहार भरी करतूत से परेशान हैं.  इंसानो की करतूत ऐसी हैं, की शायद जंगल में रहने वाले प्राणी भी इंसानो को अपने से ज्यादा जंगली समझते होंगे.

इस सुन्दर प्रकृति ने अपने ही जितने सुन्दर जीव भी इस धरती पर बनाये हैं. मगर इंसान के अहंकार ने इन कमजोर जानवरो को अपने जैसा जीव, मानने से मना कर रखा हैं.

बीते कुछ वर्षो में प्राणियों के साथ हो रहे दुर्व्यवहार और हिंसा को ख़त्म करने के लिए हमारी सरकारें काम कर रही हैं. कई जगहों पर कानून बनाये गए हैं. मगर जानवरो के साथ हो रहे दुर्व्यवहार की घटनाएं हैं कि,  थमने का नाम ही नहीं लेती. उल्टा इसमें बढ़ोतरी होती दिखाई दे रही हैं.

बीते कुछ दिन पूर्व भारत में घटी घटनाएं जानवरो के प्रति हिंसा के सबसे बड़े उदहारण हैं, जिन्हे देखकर किसी भी प्राणी प्रेमी  मनुष्य के लिए काफी दुखदायी हैं, बल्कि जानवरो के लिए और ज्यादा अधिकारों एवं उनकी रक्षा के लिए और ज्यादा प्रयास करने की जरुरत को भी हैं.

बिहार में नीलगाय (Blue Bull) के साथ हिंसा भरा रवैय्या

नील गाय और किसानों के बीच संघर्ष की बाते बिलकुल भी नयी नहीं है. किसानो की खेती के नुकसान करने वाले जानवर के रूप में नील गाय की ओर देखा जाता हैं. कई सालो का ये संघर्ष बीते कुछ वर्षो में अधिक भीषण होते दिखाई दे रहा हैं. 

इस संघर्ष ने बिहार के वैशाली जिले में बर्बरता का स्वरुप धारण किया. किसानो के फसल का नुकसान होने की कई कम्प्लेंट्स फारेस्ट डिपार्मेंट को दी थी.

खुद फारेस्ट डिपार्टमेंट ने कई शिकारियों की मदद से ३०० से ज्यादा नील गायों को मरवाने की खबर टाइम्स ऑफ़ इंडिया में छपी.

इसमें सबसे बड़ी क्रूर बात यह हैं की उनमे से कुछ नील गायों को तो जेसीबी मशीन से जिन्दाही दफनाया गया. यह बात तब सामने आयी, जब एक नील गाय को जिन्दा दफनाते समय का एक वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हुआ.




इस पूरे असंवेदनशील काम में किसी राजनीतिक व्यक्ति का भी हाथ होने की खबरे आ रही हैं. हालाँकि हमेशा की तरह उन्होंने इस वीडियो को फेक बताया हैं.

नील गाय की वजह से अक्सर खेतों में फसल का नुकसान होता हैं, यह एक वास्तविकता हैं. किसान इस नुकसान से बचने के लिए कई तरह के उपाय कर अपनी फसल को बचने की कोशिश करते हैं.




इन तरीको में कुछ मानवीय पद्धति का इस्तेमाल करते हैं और कुछ वहशी तरीको का!

वैशाली जिले के की इस घटना में जिस तरह दरिंदगी बरती गयी हैं, उससे तो ऐसा नहीं लगता की इक्कीसवी सदी का कोई मानवीय संवेदना वाला व्यक्ति यह कर सकता हैं.

दरअसल यह अमानवीय कृत्य ही हैं, जिसने हमारे इंसान होने पर ही सवाल खड़े किये हैं.

नील गाय फसल को बर्बाद करती हैं, तो इसका इलाज करने की बजाय, सरकारी प्रणाली ही अगर शिकारियों की मदद से वन्यजीवों की हत्या करेगा तो इन बेचारे जानवरों सुरक्षा की अपेक्षा किससे करेंगे?

सबसे अहम मुद्दा यह हैं की इंसान जानवरों से जानवरों से बदतर सुलूक कर क्यों करता हैं? क्या वह जानवरों को कमजोर समझता हैं? प्रकृति ने इंसान को जो अमर्याद विचार क्षमता प्रदान की हैं, क्या वह कमजोरों पर जुल्म ढाने के लिए हैं?


हम अपने आपको आधुनिक युग के मानव बताते समय बड़ा गर्व महसूस करते हैं. इससे पहले समयकाल में जन्मे इंसानों को 'पिछड़े' और अनपढ़  समझते हैं, पर क्या आज के युग में हम भौतिक सुखों में लिप्त होकर प्रकृति से दूर होते जा रहे हैं?

ऐसी घटना यही प्रतीत करती हैं, की हम प्रकृति से कोसों दूर जा चुके हैं.

आज से हजारो वर्ष पहले ये जानवर और हमारे पूर्वज साथ ही रहते थे. हम सभी अन्न श्रृंखला में एक दुसरे पर निर्भर थे, इसके बावजूद भी  इस तरह का क्रूरतापूर्ण व्यवहार इंसान अन्य जीवों के साथ नहीं करते थे. पेट भरा रहा तो शेर भी शिकार नहीं करता और एक इंसान हैं, जिसकी संपत्ति की भूख कभी ख़त्म नहीं हो रही.

आज भी जंगलो में पूर्ण रूप से अपना जीवन व्यतीत करने वाले आदिवासी भी अपनी भूख मिटाने के लिए इस तरह से प्राणियों के साथ क्रूरता नहीं दिखाते.  इसके विपरीत किसी भी भौतिक साधनों के बिना भी यह आदिवासी समूह अन्य जानवरों के साथ अत्यंत सरलता के साथ जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं.

पालतू जानवरों की ओर आजकल संपत्ति कमाने के माध्यम जैसा देखा जाता हैं. जिस कारण पालतू जानवरों से दुर्व्यवहार की कोई सीमा नहीं रही.

तो क्या हम आधुनिक मानव कहलाने के लायक हैं?



महाराष्ट्र के बुलडाणा जिले में सैंकड़ो कुत्तों की निर्मम हत्या

महाराष्ट्र के बुलडाणा जिले में गिरडा नामक ग्रामीण परिसर में एक साथ २०० से ज्यादा श्वान मृत अवस्था में पाए गए. उनके मुंह और पैर कपड़ों से बंधे हुए थे. जहर खिलाने से उनकी मौत होने के अंदेशा लगाया जा रहा हैं.

इतनी बड़ी संख्या में मृत पाए गए श्वानों  देखकर परिसर में सनसनी फ़ैल गयी.

ग्रामीणों  को कुछ समझ नहीं आ रहा था की इतनी बड़ी संख्या में श्वान पकड़कर उन्हें यहाँ क्यों लाया गया था. इन मृत श्वानों की वजह से आसपास के ४ से ५ गांव में बड़ी मात्रा में दुर्गन्ध फैली थी.




ग्रामीणों द्वारा फारेस्ट डिपार्टमेंट को शिकायत  दिए जाने के पश्चात स्थानीय पुलिस ने कुछ लोगो को गिरफ्तार किया. बाद में बाद में खुलासा हुआ की यह कुत्ते पास के ही भोकरदन नामक नगर पालिका क्षेत्र से पकडे गए थे. पुलिस इन्क्वारी में यह भी पता चला की इन कुत्तों को मारने का आदेश वरिष्ठ अधिकारी द्वारा दिए गए थे.

कुछ दिन पूर्व मुंबई की मेंबर `ऑफ पार्लमेंट रही प्रिया दत्त ने भी ट्वीट कर, इसी तरह की एक घटना का जिक्र किया था.

प्रिय दत्त ने अपने ट्वीट में कड़े कानून की मांग की हैं. ऐसे कई क्राइम हैं जिसपर कड़े से कड़े कानून भी अंकुश नहीं लगा सकते. कानून कड़े होने से कुछ ज्यादा फर्क नहीं पड़ेगा. कई बार तो सरकारी अधिकरीही कानूनों का  धड़ल्ले  से उल्लंघन करते है.

प्राणियों के लिए बनाये गए कानूनों कड़ाई से  अमल भी होना जरुरी होता हैं. लेकिन जिन्हे जानवरों से प्यार नहीं ऐसे लोग क्या इस कानून का अमल करेंगे? कानून जिनके हाथों में हैं क्या वह लोग जानवरों के प्रति संवेदनशील होते हैं?

इससे बेहतर तो लोगों में जागरूकता पैदा की जाए, ताकि एनिमल एब्यूज की घटनाओं पर अंकुश लग सके. जब तक लोग सभी प्राणिमात्र उनके जैसा ही जीव हैं, यह सोच नहीं बनाएंगे तब तक कानून कितना भी कड़ा हो कुछ फर्क नहीं पड़नेवाला.


हालांकि इस घटना घटनाये मानवीय संवेदनाओं को झकझोर कर रख देती हैं. लगातार ऐसी घटनाओं का सामने आना कोई अच्छा संकेत नहीं हैं.

एक तरह से श्वानों को इंसानो का करीबी दोस्त माना जाता हैं. कई जगह तो श्वान परिवार का हिस्सा ही बन जाते हैं. जिन्होंने उन्हें करीब से देखा हैं वही जानते हैं....

वह भले ही बोल नहीं सकते, मगर उनकी आँखे बोलती हैं.

जिस तरह हमारी संवेदनाये होती हैं, वैसी ही संवेदनाएं सभी प्राणिमात्र में होती हैं.

सुख, दुःख का अहसास उनमे भी हमारे जैसा ही होता हैं.

उनकी और हमारी वेदनाओं में भी कुछ अंतर नहीं होता. उन्हें भी जीने के लिए ऑक्सीजन की जरुरत होती हैं और हमें भी.

नाक, कान, पैर, आँखे और उसमे आनेवाले आंसू, छींक.......  कोई फर्क करके बताये तो जरा!

उनकी और हमारी भूख.......  भूख चाहे पेट की हो या शरीर की, क्या अंतर होता हैं?

जब हम सबको बनानेवाली प्रकृति ने उनमें और हम में कोई भेद नहीं किया तो हमें किसने यह अधिकार दिया हैं की हम उनसे क्रूरतापूर्ण व्यवहार करें?

पर इंसानो की लालच और स्वार्थ ने आज के युग में अन्य प्राणियों के लिए संकट पैदा किया हैं. यह संकट इतना बड़ा हैं, की कुछ प्राणियों की प्रजातियां पूरी तरह ख़त्म हो चुकी हैं और कुछ ख़त्म होने के कगार पर हैं.

भारत जैसा देश जहाँ प्राणियों में भी ईश्वर का दर्शन करने के संस्कार दिए जाते हैं, वहां एक के बाद दूसरी घटनाओं का सामने आना दुखदायी हैं.

सिर्फ गाय, भैंस, बैल ही नहीं, जहां नाग और सापों को भी पूजा जाता हैं. क्यूंकि भारतीय हजारो सालों से इन प्राणियों का महत्त्व जानते आये हैं जिसका एक सबसे बड़ा कारण हैं यहाँ की दुनिया की सबसे प्राचीनतम कृषक संस्कृति!
