JEE MAIN 2020 NEW PATTERN AND IT'S IMPACT

NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY has issued a notification for the change in JEE MAIN PATTERN along releasing the time table for JOINT ENTRANCE EXAM (JEE MAIN) exam.

In which the first phase examination will be held from January 6th to 11th, 2020 and the second phase exam will be between April 3rd to 9th, 2020.

The most important thing is that a big change has been made in the PATTERN of the JEE MAIN exam.

What will be the change in the result, due to these modifications?

What will be the cut-off?

What can be the Difficulty Level of the exam?

Many such questions have arisen.

However, nothing is mention in the notification about these questions or no information about this from any other sources, or it is not possible to find out in the present time. Can only be guessed. An attempt has been made to discuss this subject in this article.

All exams will be in online mode, except for the drawing exam of Bachelor of Architect.

Really, every student and parents are surrounded by such questions, which are also very natural.

For this, let's first understand what has been said in the notification.

JEE MAIN PATTERN 2020

As in the old pattern, there were 90 questions and the marking scheme was +4, -1. In the current pattern, total marks were 360.

At present, there will be 75 questions in the pattern of JEE MAIN. In which MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS will be 20 per subject and a total of 60 questions. The biggest thing in the new pattern is that INTEGER Type will also have 5 questions per subject. A total of 15 questions will be asked from INTEGER Type.

The biggest thing is that the exam duration is 3 hours. Meaning, the time limit has been kept the same even if 15 questions are reduced.

Markings scheme for MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS are the same. For INTEGER, there will be 4 marks per question, but there will be no negative marking. As in JEE ADVANCE.

JEE MAIN MARKS

In the new pattern, the total marks will be 300. That means 60 marks less than before.

Despite the comparison of earlier marks, the difficulty level of the exam will be high, due to the introduction of INTEGER Type questions.

The cut-off can also come down due to the increase in difficulty level.

It is believed that these exams are going to be more difficult for State Board students. Children of CBSE pattern much familiar with solving numerical questions. But State Board students do not get to solve numerical questions even in class 12th and neither do they know much about it.

Children studying in the city environment and in good coaching classes, will learn more and try to solve numerical questions. They will not have to take more hard work, to be aware of the integer.

But for the students studying in rural, questions of integer can become a hindrance to their feet.

There are many students who used to pass JEE MAIN only on the basis of their hard work and talent, even without taking private coaching. It can emerge as a major obstacle for such children.

If this type of training was started from the higher secondary schools of the State Board and this change was made, then it would definitely be used to increase the level of this examination. But it is still visible that some special class students will get more benefit.

Increasing the quality of the exam is a very appreciable change. But this may further increase the need for private coaching classes. JEE MAIN or JEE ADVANCED, these examinations are being viewed from the perspective of private coaching oriented exams.

A large section of the society is such that despite having high talent, it remains backward due to lack of availability of modern resources. Such children should also be thought of their future. Hope this will be thought.

JEE MAIN syllabus

No changes have not been made in the syllabus of JEE MAIN.

JEE MAIN Eligibility Criteria

The JEE MAIN ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA has not changed much. However, there is good news for students who are willing to appear the exam for Batchelor of Planning. This news is being welcomed.

To be eligible for Batchelor of Planning examination, it is no longer mandatory to have science subjects like Physics and Chemistry.

Students of any stream, who are being taught Mathematics subject, are eligible for the examination of Bachelor of Planning.

With this, it will now be possible for all the new students to take the JEE MAIN exam. For them, it has emerged as a great achievement.

JEE MAIN FEES

Fees are seen increasing compared to 2019. Before applying for the 2020-2021 exam session, keep in mind the fee structure given below.
