Laparoscopic surgery led to revolutionary improvement in medicine

Laparoscopic surgery led to revolutionary improvement in medicine

Many times, doctors have to undergo surgery on a patient suffering from a serious illness. In the earlier times, on the body part where surgery has to be done, big cuts of 6 to 12 inches had to be applied to it. Large parts of the body had to be cut. Due to which, after the operation, many times its marks were retained.

But after the emergence of laparoscopy, now no more incisions have to be made on any part of the body to perform surgery. Also, surgery has also become easier, such information was given by Dr. Pradeep Sharma, Laparoscopic Surgeon and Senior Consultant of Inamdar Hospital, Pune.

According to Dr. Sharma, this is a fairly new and researched technique. This procedure is known as laparoscopy due to a laparoscope. A thin device with a small video camera attached to the light at the end. When a surgeon inserts this device into your body through a small cut, he can see the inside of your body on a video monitor to see what is happening inside you. Without these tools, they would have had to cut your body more.

Seeing in your body, doctors can perform surgery on various organs located in the body. The special thing is that the camera fitted for the surgery equipment is so sophisticated that it also records the symptoms of even the smallest disease present in the body. Due to which the amount of success of surgeries through laparoscopy has increased considerably. In this surgery, the success of surgeons with laser and stapler has increased significantly.

Earlier treatment under this technique was only in relation to gall bladder and gynecology. But now its scope is expanding and this technique is also being used in small and big intestinal surgeries present in the liver and body.

In this technique, surgery is done by applying only half-inch cuts on the patient's body. After a few days of the operation, the patient's body does not even show its marks.

Dr. Sharma says that in the technique of laparoscopy surgery, the patient recovers much faster than before, due to which he is discharged from the hospital soon. Also, due to this surgery, one has to spend less on medicines than before.

With laparoscopy, the patient can get back to work soon after recovering and can live his normal life.

Benefits of laparoscopy:

  • Compared to traditional surgery, this surgery has proved to be very beneficial because in it your body is cut to a minimum.
  • There are small scars of surgery on your body.
  • You can leave the hospital early and start your work.
  • You have less pain.
  • You soon start doing your normal activities.
For example, if you are doing intestinal surgery in traditional surgery, you may have to spend a week or more in the hospital. It may take 4 to 8 weeks for you to recover completely. But if you do laparoscopic surgery, you will have to stay in the hospital for only 2 nights and you will be cured in 2 or 3 weeks. This can reduce your expenses of staying in the hospital.

Colorectal surgery is also important

An important technique of medicine is 'colorectal surgery'. This technique is proving effective in the context of diseases such as cancer, piles, fissures, fistula, pilonidal sinus, Crohn's disease, diverticulosis, which occur in the large intestine, rectum, and the excreta. With this technique, patients are recovering as soon as possible.

Endochronic surgery

This surgery is proving to be very helpful in curing diseases of the endocrine glands present in the body such as thyroid, parathyroid, adrenals, and pancreas. This technology of medicine is now bringing revolutionary changes in the lives of patients.

Laparoscopic surgery led to revolutionary improvement in medicine

  2. Thanks for sharing the article dear. It’s really informative. I want to know more about laparoscopic surgery. It’s really helpful for me. Laparoscopic liver resection is a minimally invasive approach to the liver resection procedure. It is performed under general anesthesia. For larger tumors or tumors located deeper within the liver, an open procedure is necessary. Dr.Soumen Roy is a good doctor in Odisha Laparoscopic Surgery. Thanks to you for the informative article.
